March 2, 2018 this video of Avon, Hatteras Island made the weather channel, see the link below. Winter Storm Riley has arrived to Hatteras Island. With 30 to 40 mph north west winds the sound water is pushed across Route 12. This video was taken before high tide. Reminds me of Hurricane Matthew just a little .
