August 22, 2020 I met the Bennett family from Maryland at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton, North Carolina. Last year I was scheduled to work with the Bennett family and due to bad weather we had to cancel. This year the weather cooperated for their sunset family portraits and although the sky was moody it made for a perfect island back drop.
Coming to the Outer Banks, Avon in particular, is repeatedly the highlight of the families year. Ashley (mom) expressed; “my husband has been visiting Hatteras Island for the last 18 or so years and I’ve been lucky enough to do the same for the last 10. This year was a bittersweet trip- with the very recent passing of my father in law from pancreatic cancer and a new cancer diagnosis for my mom, neither of our families were able to join us. While our vacation was certainly not the same without all of them, the one thing that never changes is the peace and happiness that our time in Avon brings us each year. Being lucky enough to find a last minute home in Avon and get my much desired photo session with Jenni was exactly what we needed this summer. See you soon Hatteras Island!”
I am so thankful to have worked with this beautiful family and had a wonderful time capturing their children’s personalities and charm. Scroll down for more then a few frames with the adorable Bennett family.
