Cape Hatteras Lighthouse Wedding, Old Lighthouse Beach, Buxton, North Carolina

On June 16, 2017 I met Courtney and Cody and their family at the Old Lighthouse Beach just before sunset. The weather was perfect at the Old Lighthouse Beach for their evening beach wedding, with beautiful clouds and the lighthouse lights flashing in the background.

Courtney and Cody met in middle school and dated on and off through high school. On February 23, 2013, Cody picked Courtney up at her home in his lifted truck. They were heading to a basketball game and on the way picked up his cousin and stopped at a convenience story. Cody broke a $100 bill for just a candy bar.  On the way home they stopped at his house to pick up his Ford Ranger. Then headed to her parents house. While in the driveway they shared their first kiss and he asked her to be his girlfriend.

On December 11, 2015 the couple went to  dinner and then went on a joy ride to look at the Christmas lights. When they arrived back to Courtney’s parent’s driveway, once again in his Ranger, Cody started his proposal speech. She started crying and shaking her head yes before he was able to finish his speech.

The couple said they chose the Outer Banks for their wedding location for the scenery and their families have vacationed here for years. The couple chose to get married on June 16th to honor Cody’s grandparent’s wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, Cody’s “Grandpa Jr” passed away February 28, 2017, just a few months shy of their wedding day. Courtney and Cody presented his grandmother with an emotional keepsake and photo with their wedding date and wedding photo.

Meredith Foust with Bliss Wedding Company married the beautiful couple. Please scroll down for Courtney and Cody’s perfect island wedding at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.
