Kill Devil Hills, Wedding in The Little Red Mailbox #1 Gazebo

Friday May 20th, I photographed Lynn and Michael’s Wedding in the The Little Red Mailbox Gazebo. A special place on the beach where messages of hope are exchanged to and from those who need it most.

Established in July 2014 by creator Sue Goodrich. Inspired by her mother’s unexpected passing, Sue wanted to help others who may need a little help getting through the ebb and flow of life and it’s many seasons. Inside the Little Red Mailbox #1, there is a journal and some pens to share your thoughts and share a little inspiration for your day provided by prior visitor’s of inspiration.

Sue and her husband Eddie donated the gazebo and other improvements at the access in 2014. The location of the beach where the LRMB #1 is located “has always been a place for Sue to reconnect with herself, her thoughts and the beauty of the sea”. Lynn and Michael were to have their Wedding last September. However, Lynn was hit by a vehicle and also had a heart attack about a year ago. It took her a while to recover from the incident, and she is lucky to be with us today. They were unable to follow the original Wedding plans in September and rescheduled to this past Friday afternoon.

Lynn and Michael’s family joined in the celebration at the Little Red Mailbox of hope. In memory of their mother’s, her bouquet and hisĀ boutonniere had photos of their moms. The beautiful teal ocean water and blue skies created a beautiful atmosphere for their Wedding Day. I am so happy I was able to witness and document their special day.
