High tide this evening brought the Atlantic ocean onto route 12 once again. The cool color contrasts of the sky with the reflections of the ocean and sunset made for a eerie picturesque photo shoot with the Cape Hatteras Motel’s.
Although it is sad to see the coastal erosion at this narrow piece of the island as you enter Buxton coming North from Avon on route 12. The local islanders have learned to embrace all the different weather patterns thrown their way. The team of people, whom continue scooping the sand off rt 12 are pretty amazing! Continuing, their efforts to maintain this part of the island even in sublime natural weather conditions! Please check out a few frames below of the Angry Atlantic meeting route 12 this evening.
